History of Magatama:Comma‐shaped stone

勾玉 (magatama) are traditional Japanese decorative items that have a rich history dating back to the Jomon period in Japan (ca. 14,000–300 BC). During the Jomon period, magatama were made from various materials such as jade, agate, and crystal and were used as a form of jewelry and as a symbol of status and wealth by members of the elite class.
